For the last few months there have been times that I wasn’t present at the office, I could not attend some of the weekly SiteGround meetings and I have neglected a lot of the internal mail communication, that needed my attention. But it was all for a great reason — I was lucky and honored to be part of the core organizing team of what turned out to be one of the most successful WordCamps. With 2 conference days, a packed Contributors Day and almost 800 people in attendance, I dare to say that WordCamp Europe was one of the best and most rewarding experiences I’ve ever been part of.

Why WordCamp San Francisco rocked my socks!

wcsf2013

We just got back from a long and utterly exciting journey to San Francisco for the biggest WordCamp of the year – WordCamp San Francisco. We proudly sponsored the conference for a second consecutive year and to say that we had a blast will be an understatement! There were more than 600 people attending, and I had the feeling we spoke to almost all of them, amazing line-up of speakers and sessions, including Matt Mullenweg’s State of the Word, and the Contribute day that made this event especially valuable for me personally.

Lily on the Joomlabe.at Podcast – the new SiteGround.com behind the scenes

Our rebranded website got the grounds moving and already generated quite a lot of traction and positive feedback. Thank you all! It’s reported that it even made some people cry. 🙂

Peter Bui, host of the super cool Joomlabe.at podcast, didn’t cry, but got super excited about the redesign and invited us again to share some insights behind the redesign. Lily – our very own marketing master and visionary of the rebranding project reveals why we chose the handcrafted idea and leaves some pretty cool marketing and rebranding takeaways. Check out the episode and make sure to listen to the very end – you might win some SG swag too!

Do you think we did good communicating the handcrafted philosophy? Throw your comments below.

Joomlabe.at podcast hosts Tenko Nikolov

In the light of the recent botnet brute force attack, yesterday our very own Tenko was invited by the quickly rising Joomlabe.at podcast of our friendly host and passionate SG ambassador Peter Bui.

Tenko tells us how old he was when he got his first computer, why our philosophy about technology and innovation is different, and goes into the depths of the brute force attacks and what’s their target – you’ll be surprised – it’s not your website. Make sure to listen until the very end of the episode; Tenko shares some quite useful tips and tricks on how to remain safe and protected from similar attacks.

Oh, and by the way, if you haven’t subscribed to the podcast yet, make sure to do it and stay up to date with the latest developments in the Joomla world!
