SiteGround will launch its new European server location on Joomla!Days Netherlands

SiteGround, a web hosting company targeting Joomla users and managing over 1000 US servers, has recently announced its plan to diversify the geographical location of their shared hosting services. Their first servers outside the USA will be in the Netherlands and the company will officially launch the new location on Joomla!Days Netherlands in the end of April, 2012.

SiteGround involves customers in a “Stop Censorship” Campaign

SiteGround web hosting company has launched a campaign to encourage its customers to voice their opinion about the soon-to-be-voted in the House of Parliament PIPA bill. The goal of the campaign is to raise the awareness about the controversial legislation and to attract even more people to oppose the bill. The SiteGround clients are invited to embed a special stamp on their websites created by the company for the needs of the campaign and to spread the word against SOPA and PIPA in their social media channels. The company has even created a plugin for Joomla that will easily add the campaign stamp on Joomla websites. SiteGround has publicly opposed the bill back in November 2011 in their company blog and has been actively voicing their opposition in social networks ever since. Now they go further in their SOPA opposition by trying to engage their customers.

Free HackAlert as a special bonus for all upgrades to Hosting PLUS

SiteGround has announced the following promotion for its existing customers: for the next one week each standard shared account that is upgraded to the PLUS version of the hosting plan will receive one year free use of the latest malware monitoring service HackAlert. Both services (Hosting PLUS and HackAlert), are relatively new in the SiteGround portfolio. They have been introduced during the summer and the current promotion aims to make more of the customers aware of these services benefits.
