I’ve been at SiteGround ever since I can remember – more than 11 years now. I have seen it grow from a couple to almost 300 employees. I have collaborated closely with all of our departments on all kinds of projects. However, this latest one was hands-down one of the most fun and gratifying I’ve ever worked on – that’s why I wanted to tell you about it.
2015 was a wild year for us, but we loved it. We almost doubled the number of new clients, went local in Spain, upgraded our platform, sponsored 100+ events, and a lot more. The past year 2015 has been a roller-coaster ride for our team. New clients doubled joining faster than we could plan on how to accommodate them. New business opportunities had to be seized and operations set in motion to make them happen. That fast-growth pace has been a source of anxiety whether we would manage to stay focused on the one thing that really matters – the quality of our service and how our clients’ experience would be affected.

The SiteGround team goes to many events, but the biggest and most important one for us this year was Bulgaria PHP Conference. Why? Well, it’s an event entirely organized by SiteGrounders and we invested all our passion, love, enthusiasm and tons of hard work into it in the last 8 months. Now that it’s over, we can relax and proudly say it turned out to be a huge success.

When I joined SiteGround 7 years ago, we were about 50 people and I recall that in just two weeks I had met and talked to everyone in the company. Seven years later, we have 5 offices in 3 different cities in Bulgaria only, and more and more people are starting to work remotely for the company. Until last week, I had never seen some of my new colleagues from the technical support and system administration departments.

SiteGround has been sponsoring and attending lots of community events over the last few years. However, it was more likely to meet us at a WordCamp or a JoomlaDay, than at a Drupal event. So it may have come as a surprise to some people to see us at DrupalCon LA but there was a good reason for us to be there – the growing number of Drupal users we have.

We just launched an enhanced look of our website SiteGround.com. We have been working on it for a while and its launch date has been heavily influenced by Google’s announcement that mobile friendliness of a website is officially becoming an important factor for search engine placement as of tomorrow. And yes, you have guessed it right – the new site is fully responsive. However, what is even more important is that the new site is fully representative of who we are and how we do things around here.
