With close to 500 employees all over the globe, the second occasion that gives us the chance to gather all SiteGrounders together except for our annual Teambuilding Festival is our End-of-year party. It is also a great time to wrap-up all the wins and hard work we did throughout the year. Sharing knowledge, helping each other and our customers, having a positive attitude and celebrating our successes together strengthen our bond and have always been part of our core values. This year made no exception. In fact, we even made it extra special! We celebrated the end of an epic year with a whole-day experience in a real film studio, inspired by the magic of cinema, creativity, togetherness and the people of SiteGround.

Keeping the Tradition Strong

Even though our team is growing exponentially with every passing year, some things never change. Our team Star Wars fandom, for one. It has now turned into a tradition to start our end-of-year celebrations with a SiteGround exclusive screening of the latest episode of the saga where team members and friends can join to watch together. This year “The Last Jedi” opened the rest of our movie-themed party day (no spoilers, though).

""

And the Winners of 2017 Are…

The celebration continued in a real film studio with our closing presentation on all major achievements, results, and wins from the passing year, and even more importantly – what new and exciting projects await us in 2018. As always, one of the most anticipated moments of the presentation was the awards of the ‘SiteGround veterans’ who’ve turned the 10-year milestone at the company. With our latest 6 veterans this year, that makes a total of 22 people who have been part of the team for over 10 years now – which is more than 5% of the whole SiteGround team! ?

Those were not the only awards for the day, though. To close one more inspiring year, this time we decided to give the floor to the team itself. We organized an internal campaign encouraging members of our team to share their wins from the year – something or someone that made them feel happy, grateful, inspired or proud to be part of the SiteGround team in 2017. We got more than 200 entries just in the first couple of days. Sharing our appreciation for each other and our work revealed the true meaning of SiteGround team spirit, our culture of caring and helping one another, and our passion for learning new things and sharing them with others. These are the threads that bind us together, making us all winners by just being part of the team.

Lights, camera, action!

After the awards, all teammates hurried to put on their movie-inspired costumes and prepare for the glamorous party. The night began the way every gala celebrity event should start – by rolling out the red carpet. To make each SiteGrounder feel like a star, we had a movie wardrobe on set, makeup artists, special themed rooms for photo shoots, Hollywood accessories, props, and movie references all over the place. And, of course, no red carpet event would be complete without the paparazzi! From Zorro to Dracula and Sylvester the Cat to Wednesday Addams, various movie characters were spotted. Take a look at some of their best photos.

As spectacular as the party was, there is one more vital element to SiteGround that helped make us who we are as a team – our customers. We wanted to share these moments with you as a way to thank you for your invaluable support, for putting your trust in us and for continuing to inspire us throughout the years. We are looking forward to what we will accomplish together in 2018! Happy holidays!
